Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 9x13 baking dish.
- Melt the butter and pour it into the baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.
- Whisk in the milk, pumpkin puree, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spoon the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
- Mix brown sugar with a bit more pumpkin pie spice and sprinkle over the batter.
- Slowly pour hot water over the top of everything.
Baking
- Bake for about 40 to 50 minutes, until the top is set and edges are bubbling.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before scooping.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Chopped pecans make a great topping.
